I get asked several times a week by members on how to insert links into blog posts. So, I decided it was time to do a blog post about how to do this. Watch the short video below as I walk you through the process of adding links & unlinking on your ActiveRain blog.
As always, do not forget to label your link! It takes only a second but can really increase the power of your blog exponentially!
If you are having trouble viewing this video, click the button to watch in HD & you can view this tutorial in full screen mode.

Thanks for the reminder on labeling your links. Along with labeling pics, in only takes a few seconds, and if people only knew how those labels add up and work for them!
thanks so much for sharing...I did not know how to do this...thanks again for your help:)
Hi Jer...
Another great tutorial! I really like the use of the video demonstration, it makes everything so much easier!
There is one more important thing. If you want your blog entry positioned well by Google in local searches try to keep your blog post over 300 words. That could put you even on page one in Google local key word searches for a couple of days. A very good tool is Google Insights For Search to determine what key words to pursue. Always use key words in your title!
Thanks Jeremy. Your posts are always so timely and immensely useful. This gives me lots of ideas.
I like the screen capture video, so much easier than doing screen shots. Going to play with Screenr a little over the weekend if I have some free time.
Jeremy, could you talk a little about a few things on your blog? Digg, my BlogLog photos, and screenr all interest me. Also, GetClicky. Thank you for the article above. I just bookmarked it to review!
Jeremy;
Sometimes it appears that the chain icon is active. Other times it's not. When is which?
It's not on as I post this comment.
And it's not on as I edit it later.
Great job Jeremy.. considering you are in vacation.
Jeremy, It has not taken me long to know that when I see your blog, I gotta' go there. I hate manuals and it is amazing I can even drive my car. Your videos are a no brainer. Excellent, as usual. Have a good vacation :)
Jeremy, Thank you so much for the tutorial on linking. I found this information very useful.
Jeremy - you always do such thorough tutorials on techie stuff! Thanks for the info and I am always looking forward to the next!
Jeremy,
After hours of frustration this post was sent to me by Erin on your staff. LIFE SAVER. Thanks for your work and a special thanks to Erin and staff for making this simple for us.
Hi Jeremy, so how was your vacation! I hope it was a nice escape from reality. :) I'm interested in the software you used to create the tutorial. That would make life so much easier than doing print screens. :) Is it costly?

Jeremy ~ I hope you had a great time on vacation.
Before I even watched this lastest clip I signed up for the e-mail alerts because you make learning all this Tech stuff easy for anyone to use!!!
THANKS :o)
Really? Links? We must have some real noobs. Sorry. That sounded really snobby. I just can't imagine not knowing how to insert a link. I'll leave now. My shock is making me sound mean.
Hi Jeremy... Thanks for the video. I thought that you were on vacation? Having ActiveRain withdrawl???
Thank you for this great post i am learning a lot here on activerain learning it. This is a great post .
Steve- Yes, I was having withdrawl! We will be heading back to the beach tomorrow evening.
Jer,
As always you have done another nice tutorial. Thank you sir.
Ha ha. Guess I'm waiting on the 'insert OB header' video.
Jeremy,
Thanks for the post. I gave this a try but, when I click on the newly created link it takes me to my profile page...what did I do wrong? Anybody???
Thanks Jeremy. I know how to link, but would never have know how to unlike an extra character. My way is to unlink the whole thing and start again - duh!
Thanks Jeremy, very useful information. Will give it a try.
Jeremy...Re: my response above...never mind...the light went on.
Nick- Glad you were able to figure things out. If you need help with anything else, don't hesitate to contact me!
Jeremy,
I really appreciate your videos. After reading your instructions and then seeing the video, I find the information sticks and the task is so much easier to complete. Keep them coming!
Jeremy,
Its the highlighting that I missed. Now I can do it w/o cursing.
