So in case anyone was wondering, where in the world have I been? Well, the past 7 days have been nothing short of a whirlwind! Last Friday I
awoke at 4:30 in the morning for a last minute decision to head to REBar Camp Raleigh-Durham aka #REBCRDU. I drove the quick 3 & a half hour drive and was instantly greeted by many of our wonderful members. I got to enjoy a wonderful day Lori Bee, Daniel Rothamel aka The Real Estate Zebra, Kathy Carson, Thom Abbott, C-Tann Starr, Lane Bailey Debe Maxwell & so many others.
David Patterson did a great job opening up the event & gave ActiveRain some major props. As the event began, in true Barcamp Fashion, I was asked to participate in a Blogging 101 Session. It was great to share about all the wonderful features of ActiveRain as well as how a blog can be used to increase your business. I had a great partner for this
session in our very own Debe Maxwell. There were about 125-150 in our class with standing room only.
Then, on Monday I headed out of town for Washington, DC to speak to Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Mid-Atlantatic Region. The drive up north was great and I really enjoyed traveling up I-95 and seeing all the fall colors of the trees lining the highway. It reminded me of my days of living in Pennsylvania and traveling to the beach during the fall. The vibrant colors of the leaves always put a smile on my face. In fact, the hotel I stayed at had some wonderful colors right outside my window.
Tuesday morning I joined Victoria Baker & Darrin Friedman at an even that Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage hosted called Real Estate in the Round. It was an event that had over 400 agents in attendance from all around the Baltimore/DC metro areas. Once again, I was given the opportunity to share all about the benefits of ActiveRain and how this wonderful network can be used to increase your bottom line.
This was a great opportunity to meet many wonderful agents and introduce them to ActiveRain. Many new members signed up that day and before long will be experiencing all the same types of success stories that so many of our members already have.
On Tuesday Morning, I headed to Reston, VA for an opportunity to share my Blogging Basics 101 class in person with about 20 Coldwell Banker Agents. I shared with them in person the tips to writing a successful blog to make it show up well in the search engines while having an appealing blog for consumers. After we finished in Reston, VA we then drove to Columbia, MD and did the class again for another branch of their brokerage. In total, over 20 new members signed up on Wednesday and are trying out ActiveRain as a new Rainmaker!
As if my week had not already been hectic enough, as I finished up my final class in Columbia, I received a call from my father & my wife. In panic, I quickly excused myself from the classroom to see what was going on. I was greeted on the phone with some really shocking news! My father informed me that I was about to become an uncle again!
My brother & sister-in-law that were expecting in December had made a visit to their Dr. that day and she made the decision that it was time to have the baby now! So as I drove home on Thursday from the DC area, I was constantly informed with progress reports on the birth of my nephew. Then around 4:30 I received the big news.
My nephew Jace Gabriel was born at 4:12 PM. He was 7lbs, 5oz and 20" long. Both him and mom were healthy & doing great! I was delighted to hear this news, so as I drove home from DC in the remnants of Hurricane Ida, I knew I would have to add a stop onto my already 9 hours of driving at the hospital and see the newest addition to the family.
I was glad that I did. Here is a picture of him that I shot at about 5 hours old. He is beautiful and wonderful. It reminded me of the day my little girl was born and my life forever changed.
So while in the last week and a half I have driven over 1,800 miles, spoke in front of almost 1,000 people, it was all definitely worth it! The new friendships formed, the great knowledge I learned & also shared made each & ever minute spent valuable to me. Not to mention the blessings of a growth in my family while gone!
So in case you were wondering, I am still alive, I am still teaching the basics of blogging. I have been busier than ever while loving every moment. Over the next few weeks I have several other brokerages & MLS's set up to speak about ActiveRain & the basics of blogging 101.
So, if you have a brokerage or MLS that you wish for me to teach the basics of blogging to, feel free to contact me and we can see what we can do to schedule something over the next few weeks. I'd love the opportunity to share about all the wonderful features of ActiveRain as well as the power of having a blog on the world's largest real estate network!

Wow, what a week. You've made me tired just reading about it. I'm sure you enjoyed your quiet time in the car.
Hi Jeremy, Boy if I could pick a new name for myself , it would Jace. We had about the same number at the San Diego REBarCamp but our event was very different. We were informal gathered in 12 locations though a 3 story downtown nightclub and it was positively fabulous. You do some remarkable things Jeremy and I wish we had you here in San Diego. If I could afford it , I would do an event every week for 25 to 30 and help change their lives as I am sure you know you are doing.
Beautiful!! Isn't it nice when life gets in the way. :') Reminds us why we are on this earth!
Jeremy- WOW! That was quite the distance! I remember when we drove from Seattle to South East Florida when we moved here from there. It took us 5 days. Congrats on the new family addition, what a cutie!
So Jer - what have you been up to - LOL. A lot I see! :) ~Rita
Jeremy - That sounds like a very busy week indeed. "Jace" is the nickname my mom has always used for me, by the way. :)
Jeremy, what did you do in your spare time?
WOW-What a week! When will we get a REBAR Camp in FL?
I want to welcome the new folks to ActiveRain, but I especially welcome Jace Gabriel to the world! What an angel!
That is quite a week Jeremy. Congrats on the newest addition of a nephew to the family! I see some spam monsters were at work overnight here who seem to think this is a great spot to sell shoes, LOL.
Whew, I got tired just reading about all of your travels. Congrats on the birth of your nephew my friend.
Happy to hear you had a great week after REBCRDU. It was great seeing you and wish you had made one of 'my' Posterous sessions with the Dakno guys.
I'd love to get you up here for blogging for newbies but it may be next year before it catches on here. What can I say??
Hi Jeremy, it was great to get to meet you at REBCRDU, what an event that was, if anyone has the opportunity to get to one of these events you gotta go!
Eleanor Thorne and all the other organizers did a wonderful job.
Congrats on the new nephew. Life can be as such that it flies right by. I wish my agent would get on board but they barely know how to boot up.
Funny first sentence, yesterday I was thinking that exact thing ... Where is Jeremy??? That was quickly followed up with thoughts of, "Did he have another kid ... already!?" :) I look forward to attending one of the REcamps, hopefully soon.
Congratulation on becoming a Uncle, and that you have a healthy new member of the family. I hope while your driving that you can listen to some enjoyable CD's or your IPod.
Congratulations Jeremy.
Was wondering if you had dropped off planet Earth.
I missed all my blogging buds at ReBar in CRDU.
You have been way busy my friend and I know you've done a great job teaching! You might want to take a short break sometime soon! :-)
Jeremy it sounds like a whirlwind trip! Congrats on the latest addition to the family.
Jeremy, What a beautiful nephew you have! Congrats to you and the whole family. Would love to have you teach the blogging basics to folks in my neck of the woods...don't think too many are into it yet, no matter how much I nag! Glad you made it home safely through the miserable weather - we finally got the sun back yesterday in WV and Northern VA!
Jeremy, congrats on the new addition to your family. If you thought you were busy you have not seen anything.
Sounds like you are a busy man! Congrats on the birth of your nephew. Have a safe time travelling to your next adventure.
Hi Jer! Wondered where you were! I enjoyed seeing you in RDU and hope we'll get our planned for Charlotte here shortly! Congratulations on the new addition! Your nephew is precious!
I know you're glad you're home!!!
Jeremy - that is one beautiful baby boy! And only 5 hours old! Congratulations to you and your family.
LOL @ Paddy. Yeah. I just reported the shoe spam comment as a concern. The nerve of 'em. ;-)
Jeremy, awesome week! I loved getting to spend time with the people living in my computer. Looking forward to catching up with you again. :-)
Jeremy, Sounds like a great but tiring week. Thanks for all you do to help the AR family grow!
Congrats on your newphew, very unique name Jace.
Jeremy,
Wow...you really traveled...I bet it was great to see the changes in landscape...and congrats on the new addition to your family.
Jenny- Yes, I did enjoy the time in the car, however it wasn't always quiet. I actually did a one on one training session to get a new member set up & running while driving!
William- Well dude, while I would love to get to Diego, you aren't kidding when you mention expensive! I think the cheapest flights I ever found were like $500! But, there still are ways my friend! We can schedule webinars whenever you wish & teach as many as you would like! The classrooms can hold up to 1,000 now I believe!
Bonnie- I think when I got home my daughter had grown 2 inches while I was gone!
Katerina- I don't think I could handle 5 days in the car. I would go absolutely nuts!
Rita- oh not much of anything...I thought about taking up knitting in all my spare time! LOL
Very Cool Jace!
Jane- Spare time? What is that? But like I said to Rita, maybe I'll take up knitting!
Dick & Dixie- I am not sure when the next barcamp will be in FL. I know there was one in Miami a few months back. While there may not be a barcamp coming, we can still do webinars for all your friends and teach them about ActiveRain & get them started in the right track. Email me.
Paddy- I know right? Maybe they think baby needs a new pair of shoes!
Don- I gave myself a headache just writing about my journeys!
Susie- Let's make it happen! I'd love to come speak to your MLS! They wouldn't know what hit them!
David- Eleanor, Meredith, & gang did an awesome job! I was so glad I got to be a part of the event!
Laura- Well I CAN teach them how to turn on the computer. Let's set up a time to do some training for your agents! What's the worst that could happen? They listen & make some extra money? :)
Steve- LOL, I guess I wrote this post just for you then! hehehe
Lorraine & Loretta- when I wasn't on the phone doing work, I spent most of my time listening to Books on CD. They engage me in the car & make the time fly by faster!
Missy- No, I didn't lose my place on Earth, just drove to the moon & back it seems.
Russell- a break? What is that? LOL
Bill- I think the term whirlwind might be an understatement for the last week!
Amy- I would love to teach them. Email me & lets work on setting up a webinar for everyone in your area!
Frank- Scary as it sounds, I know you are telling the truth my friend!
Debe- I am more than ready for REBCCLT again! It should be an awesome time!
Lina- Thanks!
C-Tann- I loved hanging out with you too!
Barb- Tiring is an understatement!
Thanks Lyn!
Lori- My car didn't quite know how to act with hills...it is used to our rather flat terrain here at the beach!
What an adorable little boy! It was so nice to get to meet you at REBarCamp.
Hopefully things slow down just a bit during the Holidays for you. My wife just had a little girl, and it definately opens your eyes to what's important.
Wow! Beautiful baby! And I love the name! So cool! And what a whirlwind few days you had! I was out of breath just reading it!
Wow! You seem to be as busy as a REALTOR! Congrats on the busy week. Sounds like you have been productive.
Man, you are getting it done, congrats and good work.
Hi Jeremy. I wish your team would come to Tampa. Or at least to Orlando LOL Congrats on the new addition to your family. ~ Lana
Congratulations, on all accounts! I married into a Niece, so I don't know that feeling to get a call about being an Aunt... my brother needs to get on the ball!
What a crazy week for you! Get ready to spoil! I love teasing and spoiling my nieces!
My, you have been a traveling man. Not a moment to spare in your schedule. Glad you had a great time and got back home safely. Congratulations to your family on that precious baby!
Congrats on becoming an uncle! You had a busy week - get some rest!!!
Yikes that is a whirlwind week - best gift of all - the new baby nephew! Congrats Jeremy!
I wonder what you're doing this week to top last week LOL
That's a busy week for anyone! What's the baby's name?
Hi Jeremy~ You wore me out just reading about it,LOL! Congratulations on the new nephew. There is nothing quite as special as a new baby!
It was good seeing you in Raleigh. You DID manage an exciting week.
Hi, Jeremy. Sure seems that you've found your niche!
It sounds like a bit of a crazy though wonderful week. Congratulations on the new addition, and I'm sure that lots of people were happy to have you teaching them.
Jeremy, you still had time to help my friend and new Active Rainer Noah Levy... I really appreciate it. When are you coming to Chicago? I have a few more buddies for you to teach...
You are the best!
Jeremy, it was absolutely awesome having you here in the DC Metro area. Your expertise is awesome. Smiles, Victoria
Jeremy,
Enjoyed meeting you at ReBarCampRDU, finally putting a real person with the blog. I think your presence and conversations made some converts to Active Rain and blogging. Thanks for coming!
